MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan swimming and diving team honored its two seniors Jenny Gallagher and Stephanie Rogaczewski on Saturday (Jan. 14) at the Wildcat Intrasquad meet in the PEIF Pool. There were no team scores as individuals battled against each other in front of a crowd of 87.
Junior Olga Budiansky and freshman Debbi Lawrence each set a new school record. Budiansky swam 30.53 seconds in the 50-yard breaststroke and Lawrence swam 59.26 seconds in the 100 individual medley.
Lawrence also won the 50 butterfly and was second to Budiansky in the 50 breaststroke. Budiansky completed the breaststroke sweep, winning the 100-yard.
Freshman Emily Bourguignon won the 50 and 100 backstrokes and the 200 freestyle. Sophomore Kelsey Sipple took the 50 freestyle. Freshman Pam Johnson finished first in the 100 freestyle.
Freshman Jordan Iverson won the 500 freestyle and freshman Madisen Sechena took the 100 butterfly.
The 5 x 100 freestyle relay team with Lawrence, Johnson and freshmen Tara Dowling and Taylor Grimm took first.
Freshman Sophia Garris won the one and three-meter dive events.
The Wildcats are off until Feb. 8-11when they travel downstate to host the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship.
