Sherice Hewett

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Northern Michigan redshirt freshman Sherice Hewett has been selected Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week.

Hewett is a provisional qualifier in the triple jump and has won the event at both meets so far this season. Her longest jump in the triple is 39-0.25. She is ranked first in the GLIAC in the event and third in the nation.

The Milwaukee native finished second in the 60-meter hurdles at St. Scholastica and 10th in the high jump at the GVSU Holiday Open. She was also on the 4x200 meter relay team that set a new school record in the first meet of the season at CSS.

The Wildcats are off until Jan. 14 when they travel to Madison, Wis. to participate in the Badger Track Classic.
