MARQUETTE, Mich. – For the first time this season, a Northern Michigan swimmer has been named GLIAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week. Freshman Emily Brennan (Great Falls, Mont.) was honored for her outstanding performance in the pool this past weekend.
This past weekend, Brennan began her college career by setting an NMU pool record and winning three events. Competing in a tri-meet against St. Cloud State and host Minnesota-Moorhead, Brennan won the 500 freestyle event and set a pool record in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:38.99 on Oct. 21. She followed up the win on Oct. 22 with a win in the 200 and 500 freestyle. In all, Brennan won a total of three events over the weekend and set one pool record.
