FINDLAY, Ohio. – One goal proved to be the deciding factor today (Oct. 7) as the Northern Michigan soccer team fell at Findlay 1-0.

With the loss, the ‘Cats fall to 6-3-3 overall and 4-3-2 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  The Oilers improve to 5-5-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the GLIAC.

The match’s only goal came at the 27th minute, when the Oilers Sandy Findley scored off of a deflection in the goal box.

The Oilers outshot the ‘Cats, 6-4 and held a 4-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Senior forward Chelsea Lyons led the NMU offensive attack with two shots on goal.

Junior goalkeeper Jessica Baker allowed one goal on six shots faced.  It was the first goal surrendered by Baker in the last three matches.  Findlay goalkeeper Kelsea Corns earned her first win of the season.

The ‘Cats continue their Ohio trip facing Tiffin at noon Sunday (Oct. 9).
