‘Cats Defeat Panthers to Remain Unbeaten

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The Northern Michigan soccer team remained unbeaten with a 1-0 win over Ohio Dominican on Sunday (Sept. 11) afternoon.

NMU is now 4-0-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Goalkeeper Jessica Baker got her fifth career shutout and second shutout of the season, stopping seven Panther shots.

Freshmen forward Tevun Sellers scored the lone goal of the game (unassisted) 26 minutes into the second half. She buried her second goal of the season from the left wing into the right side of the goal from 18 yards out.

Ohio Dominican (0-3-1, O-1-1 GLIAC) committed 12 fouls and had 11 corner kicks. NMU had five fouls and only one corner kick. The ‘Cats had five shots on goal and the Panthers had seven.

NMU travels to Ferris State and Grand Valley next weekend for a pair of GLIAC North games.
