Athletes Reflect on First Week of School

MARQUETTE - United States Olympic Education Center athletes completed their first week of school for the 2011-2012 school year. Wrestlers were asked to share some of their first week experiences.

 

"I enjoy getting back into the grind of training and school.  The first week of school is just a reminder that I getting my life organized and in order again." - Greco-Roman wrestler Ryan Hope

"I enjoy living life in the fast lane of an Olympic hopeful and student." - Freestyle wrestler Melissa Apodaca

"I'm enjoying the transition into college and the training environment.  I also really enjoy being in a place other than Arizona.  It is a lot of transitions but I'm having fun with it and adjusting well." - Greco-Roman wreslter Austin Barton

"I really like gettting back into shape as well as getting a good start on my classes.  I really enjoy the location of NMU's campus.  I can go out to Lake Superior almost every day!  I am looking forward to a productive year." - Greco-Roman wreslter Frank Sade

"The first week of class has gone really well.  I'm really happy to be busy again with school and training because it helps me stay focused." - Freestyle wreslter Carlene Sluberski
