MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University football team will hold its 2011 Football Camp on June 17 and 18 in the Superior Dome and the Outdoor Fields. The two-day camp is $150 with a special session for high school seniors for $10.
Campers will be instructed in all phases of football. The camp will accommodate all positions and will offer numerous opportunities for personal, one-on-one instruction. Camp will be focused on teaching fundamentally sound football skills and stress individual leadership skills and the importance of teamwork. Each camper is guaranteed a memorable and positive camp experience.
NMU coaches and local high school coaches will be on hand for instruction. There will be a session with the Olympic Strength Coach. Friday’s session starts at 11 a.m. and runs to 3:45 p.m. Dinner will be at 4 p.m. The Friday evening session is from 6:30–8 p.m. There will be pizza and a movie showing after the evening session. Saturday’s session is from 8:30–10 a.m. There is a 10:30 a.m. lunch followed but the afternoon session (noon–3 p.m.). The Senior Only session is from 3–5 p.m. and will focus on testing and positional work.
Campers are asked to bring a helmet, regular tennis shoes, t-shirts, a sleeping bag, a tent, a pillow, shoes for natural grass, shorts, a water bottle and quarterbacks need to bring their own balls. Housing on Friday night will be in tents in the Superior Dome.
