‘Cats in Fourth-Place after Day Two

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Northern Michigan outdoor track and field team is in fourth-place with 18.5 points after day two at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Northwood University.

Kristen Schulz placed sixth in the 3000 steeplechase go give the ‘Cats three points. Jaime Roberts cleared 11-8.5 and tied for fourth-place in the pole vault, adding 4.5 points. Bailey Franklin picked up four points with a fifth-place finish in the long jump.

Melissa Christensen (5th) and Brooke Granquist (6th) picked up seven points for NMU on Wednesday (May 4) in the heptathlon.

Action gets back underway on Friday. Catherine Angeli will run the 100 and 200 meter dash finals. She set a new school record in the 100 dash in the preliminary round, sprinting a 12.10. Brittnee Balbierz will also run the 100.
