Track and Field Has Three Named All-Region

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the first time, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named All-Region honorees for indoor track & field in Division II. The top five from each region in individual events have earned the All-Region distinction for the 2011 indoor season.

Three Northern Michigan University athletes earned All-Region status. Catherine Angeli was ranked in the top five in the 60m dash and the 200m dash. Bailey Franklin was named All-Region in the high jump, triple jump and pentathlon. Jaime Roberts was selected in the pole vault.

Franklin and Roberts are traveling to NCAA Nationals this week in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Franklin is ranked 11th nationally in the triple jump and sixth in the high jump. She will compete in the high jump on Saturday (March 12), starting at 1:45 p.m. and the triple jump at 2 p.m.

Roberts is ranked seventh in the pole vault and will compete on Friday (March 11) starting at 4:10 p.m.
