Track Heads to GLIAC Championship

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University track and field team is traveling to University Center, Mich. to participate in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships. Competition starts on Friday (Feb. 25) morning and goes until Saturday (Feb. 26) afternoon.

NMU is ranked No. 22 this week nationally by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The ‘Cats were ranked No. 17 last week. The GLIAC conference is the top rated conference in the country. Grand Valley State is the top ranked team in the nation while Ashland is No. 3 and Findlay is No. 25.

NMU is also ranked third in the regional behind Grand Valley and Ashland.
