Liebner Named CCSA Athlete of Week

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Andy Liebner of the Northern Michigan Nordic ski team has been named Central Collegiate Ski Association male athlete of the week. Liebner won both the freestyle and classic races over the weekend at the CCSA Championships in Ispheming.
The junior from Soldotna, Alaska defeated teammate Erik Soderman by over a second in Saturday’s 10k freestyle race. Sunday, he edged out teammate Martin Banerud by .03 seconds in the 20k classic.
Liebner and the Wildcats travel to Houghton for the third time this season as they compete in the NCAA regional this weekend (Feb. 18-19).
