RUMFORD, Maine – George Cartwright of the Northern Michigan University Nordic ski team was named to the United States Junior World team by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association. The Junior World Championship will take place in Otepea, Estonia.
The sophomore from Lander, Wyoming qualified for the team based on his results at the 2011 U.S. National Championships in Rumford, Maine last weekend. Cartwright will join his teammates and depart for Europe on Sunday.
The Junior World Team consists of six men and six women. The teams compete in four events with competition starting on Jan. 26 until Jan. 31.
