FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Northern Michigan University goaltender Jared Coreau has been named this week’s Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Goaltender of the week. Coreau earns this award after his performance this past weekend (Dec. 31-Jan.1) against No. 7 Denver.
In the 2-2 tie against Denver on Saturday (Jan. 1), the freshman from Perth, Ont. recorded 44 saves on 46 shots, which included 21 in the second period. This was the third 40+ performance of the season for Coreau. He blocked 49 shots against Michigan Tech (Oct. 12), and 51 saves against Notre Dame (Dec. 11).
This is the first time Coreau has been awarded this honor in his career.
