Ellingson Honored by the CCHA

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.- Northern Michigan University Wildcat Hockey goaltender Reid Ellingson has been named this week’s Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Goaltender of the Week for the second consecutive week. Ellingson, a junior from Cloquet, Minnesota, gains the honor for his performance this past weekend (Nov. 26-27) against Bemidji State when he stopped 71 of 73 shots in the split.  On the weekend (Nov. 26-27) his gaa was 1.01 and his saves percentage was .972.

In the 4-0 Wildcat win on Friday (Nov. 26) night against the Beavers, Ellingson recorded 37 saves on 37 shots for the second shut out of his career.  He also helped the Wildcats kill three of three Bemidji power plays. In Saturday (Nov. 27) night’s game against Bemidji the ‘Cats lost 3-0 and Ellingson had 34 saves on 36 shots.

The junior goaltender finished the month of November with a 4-2-1 record, along with a 1.14 goals-against average. He also added 229 saves and a .966 save percentage.
