FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Northern Michigan University Wildcat Hockey goaltender Reid Ellingson has been named this week’s Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Goaltender of the Week for his performance against Alaska this past weekend. Ellingson stopped 75-of-77 shots faced and registered 0.86 goals-against average over the weekend.
On Friday night (Nov. 19) in the 1-1 tie against the Nanooks, Ellingson recorded 34 stops and one goal against. On Saturday (Nov. 20), he stopped 41 shots, to increase his save percentage to .917 for the year. Currently for the season, Ellingson has 2.50 goals-against average. The junior from Cloquet, Minnesota, is 10thin the CCHA for goals-against, and is second for save percentages.
