LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Saturday, November 20, marks the closing of the 2010 season for the Northern Michigan University cross country team as the ‘Cats finished 15that the NCAA Regionals.
The ‘Cats totaled 414 points and averaged a course time of 23:52.62. The first Wildcat across the finish line was Nora Kiilunen who finished 73rd, with a time of 23:41. 39. Teammates Kristen Schulz (23:47.44), Marie-Helen Soderman (23:50.81), and Rita Woitas (23:53.21) were close behind as they finished 78th, 82nd, 85th, respectively. The final ‘Cats to finish were Olivia Juntila (24:10.68, 96th), Mandy Dye (24:20.95, 107th), and Christina Turman (24:29.56, 109th).
Christina Turman was the lone placing Wildcat senior and the ‘Cats hope to improve next year with the experience of their young squad.
Ferris State junior Christina Muir was the individual champion in 21:05. Grand Valley won the women’s team competition with 26 points.
