MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University football team (4-4, 4-3 GLIAC) will cross the bridge for the final time this season as the squad makes its way to Ohio to tangle with the Tiffin University Dragons (1-7, 0-7 GLIAC).  Kickoff is set for Saturday, Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m. 

Both teams are coming off home losses last week.  NMU was edged by Indianapolis 6-5 while Tiffin was beaten by Ohio Dominican (41-21).

The Wildcats and Dragons have met twice on the gridiron with the home team winning each game. NMU’s last trip to Tiffin was during the 2008 season, it was the first meeting between the two schools, as the Dragons won a four overtime game (34-28). Last year in the Superior Dome NMU won 62-0.

David McKnight leads the Dragons on the ground with 303 yards on 79 carries. Jason Young and Nate Scully have split time at the quarterback spot.  Young has recorded 994 yards passing on 97-176-9.  Trey Williams has hauled in a team-high 42 receptions for 520 yards.  He has caught four touchdown passes. Defensively the Dragons are led by Mike Virgin with 59 total tackles (42 solo and 17 assisted).  He also has a team-high four interceptions. 

John Privitelli leads the ‘Cats on the ground with 412 yards on 109 carries.  He has two of NMU’s nine rushing touchdowns.  Jacob Hicks has stepped in for the injured Carter Kopach at quarterback.  He has thrown for 183 yards on 25-50-2.   Dustin Brancheau continues to lead the ‘Cats in receiving with 31 receptions for 435 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively the ‘Cats are led by Eddie Knoblock with 59 total tackles (31 solo and 28 assisted).  Knoblock along with DJ Oke and Marcus Tribble have recorded two interceptions each. 

NMU leads the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in scoring defense (16.6 avg/g), total defense (265.4 avg/g) and pass defense (123.4 avg/g).
