Rockne Belmonte

BAY CITY, Mich. – Rockne Belmonte has been selected this week’s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Ferris State on Saturday.    The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich. booted a 31-yard field goal with 4:16 remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Wildcats a 22-20 victory over the Bulldogs.

Belmonte was three-for-three for the afternoon against Ferris State as he also connected from 51 yards in the second quarter and 27 yards in the third quarter.  His 51-yard field goal was a career long and is the second longest in the GLIAC this season.  Belmonte this season has made six of his nine field goal attempts.
