MARQUETTE, Mich. – A four match road trip starts for the NMU volleyball team this weekend. The undefeated Wildcats (13-0, 9-0 GLIAC) travel to Ohio for two matches at Tiffin Friday (Oct. 8) and at Ohio Dominican Saturday (Oct. 9).

The Wildcats climbed the AVCA rankings to No. 16 this week after defeated Michigan Tech (3-1) on Friday. The ‘Cats have been ranked No. 19 and No. 21 this year.

The Wildcats are at the top of the GLIAC standings. Leading the way is Ana Lopes, Sami Vierk and Emma Wolfe in kills with 160, 140 and 127 respectively. Setter Abby Lovell has 414 assists for 9.74 per set which is fourth in the GLIAC. Kristin Wetzel has 148 digs while Ana Lopes has 145. Katie Twardzik leads the team with 36 blocks.

Tiffin is 8-5 and 5-3 in the GLIAC. The Dragons have won two in a row and three of their last four as they beat No. 23 Malone and Ohio Dominican last week. They have won four of their six home matches.

Ohio Dominican is 5-8 and 1-7 in GLIAC play. The Panthers are 1-6 at home and have yet to beat a GLIAC team at home. They split a pair of matches last week beating Alderson-Broaddus and losing to Tiffin.

Match time is set for 7:00 PM Friday (Oct. 8) at Tiffin and 2:00 PM Saturday (Oct. 9) at Ohio Dominican.
