Stephens opened up the scoring at 14:34 of the first half with an unassisted goal. Kari Buckel scored her first goal of the season and game on a penalty kick at 33:34. Granstrand also talked about Jessica Baker’s shut out. “We’ve always known how good Jessica is. We’ve just had so many talented goalies. She’s getting her chance now.”

Saginaw had a few scoring chances. One shot was headed into the crossbar and another hit the post. Baker recorded 9 saves for the Wildcats and Laura Van de Valk had 4 for the Cardinals.
