Soccer In Another Deadlock

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. – For the third time this season the Northern Michigan University soccer team ended a game in a deadlock.  Today (Friday) on the NMU pitch the Wildcats and the Bulldogs of Ferris State University played to a 0-0 draw after 110 minutes.  The ‘Cats are now 2-0-3 overall on the season and 2-0-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.  Ferris is currently 1-4-1 and 1-2-1 respectively.

NMU had the advantage on shots for the game by a 21-14 margin.  The ‘Cats out-shot the Bulldogs in the overtime periods by a seven to one count.  Shots on-goal were a little closer at seven to six in favor of the ‘Cats.  Dana Stephens had three shots on-goal while Amelia Johnson had two.   Corner kicks were three for each side. 

Jessica Baker recorded all six saves for NMU for the game.  Baker now has two career shutouts to her credit. 

NMU will be back in action Sunday, Sept. 19 at noon against Grand Valley State at the NMU Soccer Field.
