
SAULT STE. Marie, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University cross country team competed at the Lake Superior Challenge Cross Country Meet Saturday. NMU ran to a second-place finish at the meet with 37 points. Michigan Teach won the women’s title with 21 points.
Kristen Schulz was the top placing ‘Cat as she covered the course in a time of 19:25.6 for a third-place finish. Rita Woitas (19:34.4) was sixth for NMU with teammates Nora Kiilunen (19:36.1) and Olivia Juntila (19:49.3) the next finishers. Jess Krob (20:16.1) was 15th while Katie Holway was 18th (20:47.9). Just finishing outside a top 20 finish was Kristen Hoklas (20:59.7) in 23rd. The final NMU runner to cross the finish line was Noah Kelsey (22:33.5) in 31st.
The ‘Cats will be back in action in two weeks at the Roy Griak Invitational (Sept. 25).
