USOEC All-Academic Team

 

MARQUETTE – Twenty-nine United States Olympic Education Center athletes have been named to the USOEC All-Academic team for the 2010 winter semester. Student athletes must earn a 3.0 GPA or higher to make the team.
            Freestyle wrestlers on the team include Ahnjahleena Akuna (Wailuanui, Hawaii), Mary Kelly (Mahomet, Ill.), Emily Martin (Frisco, Texas), Cassandra Schmidt (Missoula, Mont.), Carlene Sluberski (Fredonia, N.Y.), and Laura Conway (Traverse City, Mich.).
            Greco-Roman wrestlers earning the honor are Aaron Briggs (Tuscon, Az.), Nate Engel (St. Helena, Calif.), Ryan Hope (Carol Stream, Ill.), Ben Provisor (Stevens Point, Wisc.), Ben Sanchez (Leominster, Mass.), Mark Stenberg (Silverton, Ore.), and Paul Tellgren (Anoka, Minn.).
            Short track speedskaters on the team are Erin Bartlett (Lakewood, Ohio), Chris Carr (Atlanta, Ga.), Dan Fiorenza (Wausau, Wis.), Tamara Frederick (Park Ridge, Ill.), Levi Kirkpatrick (Hills, Iowa), Cherise Wilkins (Syracuse, N.Y.), and Barry Winslow (Midland, Mich.).
            Weightlifters Maxwell Cretcher (Rochester Hills, Mich.), Breanne Carlson (Peshtigo, Wis.), Sara Cowles (Daytona Beach, Fla.), Robin Feuerman (Altamonte Springs, Fla.), Matt Fraser (Colchester, Vt.), Allie Henry (River Falls, Wis.), Collin Ito (Vista, Calif.), Steve Jarvis (Niagara, Wis.) and Chris Lenahen (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) finish the list.
