Group Of Track And Field Wildcats Competed At Gina Relays
HILLSDALE, Mich. – A small group of student-athletes participated at the Gina Relays which were held at Hillsdale College Saturday. The meet was a non-scoring affair.
Bailey Franklin had a busy day as she competed in the 100-meter hurdles, the high jump and triple jump. In the hurdles she was 11th with a time of 15.39. The field events saw Franklin placed sixth in the triple jump (36-03.50) and posted a 5-05.00 in the high jump for eighth.
In the 800 run, Maegan Hendershot ran a 2:17.83 for 13th while teammate Erin VanEnkevort finished with a time of 2:33.46 (54th). VanEnkevort also competed in the 400 hurdles and finished with a time of 1:09.05 (41st). Kristen Schultz ran the 1,500 as she was 64th with a time of 5:06.05. She also competed in the 3,000 steeplechase and finished with a time of 11:29.20 for 25th
The rest of the Wildcats competed in the field events. Karin Diebold leaped a 10-08.00 in the pole vault for 18th. Angela Leckson with a throw of 41-06.50 placed sixth in the shot put. She then threw a 103-11 in the javelin for eighth. Krista Squiers was fourth in the javelin (112-01) and seventh in the hammer throw with an effort of 165-05.
The next event where the whole team will compete is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 5-7 at Ferris State University.
