Laura DeWitt Falls Short Of All-American Status

 

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Laura DeWitt could not match her All-American performance from the 5K classic race Thursday into another top 10 finish Saturday in the 15k freestyle race. DeWitt with a time of 43:26.2 placed 12th in the final day of competition at the 2010 NCAA Skiing Championships. All-American status is awarded to top 10 finishers. As a team the Wildcats finished in 14th place with 166 points as Denver won the event with 785.5 points.
Northern Michigan University had another skier in the top 20 when Monica Markvardsen placed 14th as she covered the course with a time of 43:36.5.  The third NMU skier in the event was Christina Gillis who was 34th (47:02.2).
