Three-For-One Saturday, Feb. 27 At The Berry
MARQUETTE, Mich. - Northern Michigan University will be having plenty of action and special events Saturday, Feb. 27. The fourth tripleheader of the season will be that day at the Berry Events Center. NMU takes on Lake Superior State in men’s and women’s basketball and hockey. Action gets underway with the women’s basketball game at 11 a.m. which will be followed by the men’s game at approximately 1 p.m. and then the day will wrap up with the hockey game at 7:35 p.m. A special ticket offer of three-for-one is currently available. It will be Senior Day for all three teams that Saturday.
Fans that purchase a ticket for Saturday night’s hockey game for $15 will be admitted into the men’s and women’s basketball games for free.
The women’s basketball team will start out the morning. Seniors being recognized before the game include: Holly Cole, Mariah Dunham, Christa Erickson and Angie Leckson.
Immediately following the women’s game the men take on the Lakers. The seniors being recognized are: Mark D’Agostino, Kyle Hawley, Marc Renelique, Austin Rowe, Sebastien Salois and Chris Warner.
Saturday night will be busy as the Wildcat hockey team ends its series against the Lakers. The game will start out with recognition to all the seniors which include Matt Butcher, Alan Dorich, Ray Kaunisto, TJ Miller, Billy Smith and Brian Stewart.
The game sponsor for Saturday night’s hockey game is Downtown Eye Care; they’re also sponsoring the Marquette County Humane Society event. You can bring your canned cat food, Kong toys, Frontline flea and tick treatment for cats and dogs, bleach and hand sanitizer, Econo slips, safe dog and cat treats and monetary donations to the Berry Events Center and drop it off at the main entrances before attending the game. While at the main entrances you can also pick up trading cards of all the senior hockey players. Following the game there will be an autograph session in the Izzo-Mariucci Room. Public Service Garage will be ending its “Center Ice Shootout” puck shooting contest. Contestants will attempt to win $20,000 towards a new vehicle.
The game doesn’t end after the third period. Thanks to the Casa Calabria, Houle and Associates and Ameriprise Financial – Doug Garrow there will be a fourth period at the Casa Calabria.
