MARQUETTE, Mich.-The Northern Michigan University volleyball program announces its spring schedule. The Wildcats are coming off a 19-12 overall record for the 2009 season, an 11-5 slate in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and a second straight appearance in the NCAA Division II championship tournament. According to Dominic Yoder, the NMU head volleyball coach, the spring season is a great way to increase player skill development and proficiency with the underclassmen to help prepare them and the team for the 2010 championship season in the fall.
The team will begin practice March 8, the first scheduled event for the ‘Cats will be March 20 when they take on Lake Superior State in Vandament Arena. In addition, the Wildcats will hit the road to participate in events at UW-Green Bay (March 27), St. Cloud State (April 10) and Minnesota-Duluth (April 17).
The times and opponents for the matches will be announced at a later date.
