BAY CITY, Mich. – Marc Renelique who led the Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team to a split last week has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week. NMU defeated Grand Valley State (83-80) Thursday and lost to Ferris State (90-76) Saturday.
The senior, guard from Montreal, Quebec averaged 29.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game against the Lakers and Bulldogs. In the two games, Renelique shot 61.3 percent (19-of-31) from the field, 75.0 percent (12-of-16) from the three-point line and 90.0 percent from the free throw line (9-of-10).
Against Grand Valley State, Renelique poured in a game-high 33 point, while grabbing five rebounds. He added 26 points against Ferris State, going 6-of-7 from beyond the arc.
Currently for the season, Renelique is averaging a team-high 17.4 ppg.
