CABLE, Wis. – The Northern Michigan University men’s Nordic ski team claimed the team title with 80 points Saturday in the 10K classic race at the Telemark SuperTour race. Michigan Tech was second (78) with the College of St. Scholastica third (67).
George Cartwright was the first NMU skier to cross the finish line as he was third with a time of 30:28.1. Next was Chris Bowler in fourth (30:29.0). Kevin Cutts was the third NMU skier in the top six with a time of 31:04.4. Tim Cook had a time of 31:49.5 which was good for 12th. Ben Hugus was the final NMU skier in the event as he was 15th (32:14.3).
The team will compete the second day of the event Sunday with the freestyle race.
