Kevin Cutts Leads Wildcats In Classic

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Northern Michigan University men’s Nordic ski team competed the second day of the Central SuperTour event Sunday as the team skated the 15K classic race.  
Kevin Cutts led the Wildcats with a 12th place showing as he covered the course in a time of 38:21.9. George Cartwright was the next ‘Cat to cross the finish line with a time of 39:24.3 for 23rd. Teammate Tim Cook was less than 13 seconds back (39:37.1, 24th). Chris Bowler had a top 30 finish as he was 28th with a time of 40:23.6.  Tom McFadden was 52nd (42:37.2) with teammate Ben Hugus 57th (43:01.6). 
In the men’s overall standings for the weekend the ‘Cats were third with 125 points.  Alaska was first (130) followed by Michigan Tech (123). In the combined overall score the ‘Cats were first with 266 points.
The team will be hitting the trails next at the Central SuperTour event in Cable, Wis. the weekend of Jan. 30-31.
