MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s indoor track and field team is hosting its lone home meet of the season Saturday, Jan. 23 beginning at 11 a.m. inside the Superior Dome. Admission is free for the event. The Northern Challenge in its fifth year will feature teams from NMU women’s and men’s club team, Lake Superior State (men and women), Northwood (men and women), St. Norbert (men and women) and Michigan Tech club teams (men and women).

Before the competition four seniors will be honored. Karin Diebold, Maegan Hendershot, Krista Squiers and Erin VanEnkevort will be participating in their final Northern Challenge as members of the NMU indoor track and field team. “This meet usually produces the best times of the year,” said Tom Barnes, the head track and field coach at NMU. “It helps having the good competition. The meet gets bigger and bigger every year.”
