Men Nordic Skiers Wrap Up Championships

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Northern Michigan University men’s Nordic ski team completed competition at the 2010 ConocoPhillips U.S. Cross Country Championships.
In the 30K mass start classic race the Wildcats were led by Kevin Cutts as he skated the course in a time of 1:43:07.4 which was good for 35th. Nine places back in 44th was Tim Cook with a time of 1:45:59.8.
The final event of the competition was the classic sprint as Cutts led the ‘Cats as he just missed a top 30 finish. Cutts’ time of 3:28.33 gave him a 31st place showing. Teammate George Cartwright finished two places back in 33rd with a time of 3:29.10. Ben Hugus was 42nd (3:30.70) with teammate Chris Bowler 52nd (3:34.47). Cook was 64th as he had a time of 3:39.04. 
In the U.S. Ski Team World Junior overall ranking list NMU skier Cartwright finished in sixth place.
As a team the ‘Cats will resume its collegiate schedule Jan. 23-24 at the Central SuperTour in Minneapolis, Minn.
