Raymont McElroy

BAY CITY, Mich. – Sophomore guard, Raymont McElroy, from the Northern Michigan University men’s basketball team has been named this week’s Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week. The Milwaukee, Wis. native led the Wildcats to a pair of wins over the Holiday break by averaging 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.5 steals per contest. 

McElroy helped NMU post an 84-75 win over Bemidji State Dec. 29 by recording 22 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals. He then led the Wildcats to a 66-55 GLIAC road win at Michigan Tech Saturday by tallying 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists. 

Currently for the season he leads the team by averaging 16.7 ppg and has a team-high 43 assists.
