MARQUETTE, Mich. – For its final home regular season match of the season the Northern Michigan University volleyball team went out of conference and hosted the Finlandia Lions Friday at Vandament Arena. It took the Wildcats less than an hour to defeat the Lions for the three-set win (25-9, 25-13, 25-9).
NMU improves to 17-8 overall on the season while Finlandia falls to 7-11.
For the match NMU had a hitting percentage of .438 on 46 kills in 89 total attempts. Amy Andersen-Goldsworthy led the way with 12 kills in 18 total attempts for a hitting percentage of .667. Abby Lovell had a match-high 33 assists and chipped in with six digs.
As a team the ‘Cats recorded 13 service aces with Andree Ring having a match-high five in the win. Cassie Osiecki recorded 10 digs. Dani Branco at the net had a block solo and two block assists.
NMU is back in action tomorrow (Saturday, Oct. 31) on the road against Michigan Tech at 4 p.m.
