
BAY CITY, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University women’s basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division for the 2009-10 season. The preseason poll was selected by the GLIAC Sports Information Directors and selected members of the media. Michigan Tech and Northwood were tabbed to win the GLIAC North and South Division titles respectively. The Huskies return all five starters from an NCAA Division II Elite Eight team from a year ago, enters the season as the nation’s top ranked team. Northwood participated in the NCAA Tournament for the first time last year.
