MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University hockey team completed its first weekend home series against the Bemidji State Beavers. The Beaver participated in last year’s Frozen Four. It was the first shortie the Wildcats have given up this season. Tyler Lehrke added a goal at 11:14 of the opening period for the 2-0 lead.
Ryan Cramer scored the lone goal in the second period less than a minute into the frame (00:58) for a 3-0 lead. Ian Lowe made the count 4-0 with a power-play goal at 8:24 of the third period. The Beavers final goal was scored at 12:07 of the final frame by McKelvie for his second of the night.
