Three 'Cats Selected To CCHA Preseason Team

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Three Northern Michigan University hockey players were named to the 2009-10 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Preseason All-Conference Team as first team selections. Named to the first team were Erik Gustafsson (defense), Mark Olver (forward) and Brian Stewart (goaltender). 
Gustafsson received eight first-team votes and 49 total points. Olver picked up five first-team votes and 39 overall. Stewart was named on five first-team ballots and garnered 36 total points.
Gustafsson an All-American for the 2008-09 season and was selected as the CCHA’s Best Offensive Defenseman last season. He tallied 34 overall points during the 2008-09 season on four goals and 30 assists. Olver led the 2008-09 Wildcats in goals (16) and points (35). Stewart was 14-13-3 with a 2.32 goal-against average and a .925 save-percentage for the 2008-09 campaign.
Greger Hanson was an honorable mention selection to the team. He finished the 2008-09 season with 34 points on 13 goals and 21 assists.
