Wildcats Sixth at Roy Griak

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team ran to a sixth-place finish at the Roy Griak Invitational Saturday morning. NMU registered 241 points.  Minnesota-Duluth with 78 points won the Women’s Maroon Division II section.
Bibiane Mahy led the Wildcats with a 21st place showing as she crossed the finish line with a time of 23:51.49. Jenny Wiedmeyer was 38th (24:13.74) as she was followed by Olivia Juntila with a time of 24:22.49 for 43rd. The last two runners to score for NMU were Sarah Allen in 60th (24:42.79) and Kristen Schulz in 79th (25:05.14).
Two other runners competed, but did not score point. Rita Woitas was 84th (25:10.24) while Cara Crawford was 89th (25:13.94).
NMU will be in action again Oct. 9 when the team will host the U.P. Championships at the NMU Golf Course.
