NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Northern Michigan University women’s track and field team has been selected by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as an all-academic team. NMU is one of 10 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) schools named to the list. A total of 64 NCAA Division II women’s track and field programs were recognized by the USTFCCCA as an all-academic track and field team. Northern Kentucky University was on top of the list with a team grade-point average of 3.678.
To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average. NMU had a team GPA of 3.230. Other GLIAC schools on the list were Findlay (3.440 GPA), Michigan Tech (3.430 GPA), Saginaw Valley State (3.327 GPA), Northwood (3.300 GPA), Ashland 3.270 GPA), Lake Superior State (3.270 GPA), Grand Valley State (3.237 GPA), Hillsdale (3.225 GPA) and Tiffin (3.158 GPA).
