NMU Soccer Schedule Set For 2009

 

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University soccer program announces its 2009 schedule. NMU was 11-9-1 overall in 2008 which included a 7-6-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). NMU will host an Alumni Game Aug. 22 to kick off the 2009 season. The Wildcats open up the regular season on the road against St. Joseph’s (Aug. 28), Indianapolis (Aug. 30), Concordia-St. Paul (Sept. 5) and Minnesota-Duluth (Sept. 7).
NMU’s first home tilt is also its first GLIAC contest against Ashland (Sept. 13). The following weekend the ‘Cats are at Grand Valley State (Sept. 18) and Ferris State (Sept. 20). 
NMU comes home to face Saginaw Valley State (Sept. 25) and Northwood (Sept. 27). The first weekend of October the ‘Cats are in Ohio to tangle with Findlay (Oct. 2) and Tiffin (Oct. 4). Grand Valley State (Oct. 9) and Ferris State (Oct. 11) have a return match in Marquette the following weekend.
The ‘Cats face for the second time Saginaw Valley State (Oct. 16) and Northwood (Oct. 18) on the road. NMU will play two of its final three regular season matches at home. First up are the Oilers of Findlay (Oct. 23) and then the Dragons of Tiffin (Oct. 25) on the NMU pitch. The final regular season match of the season is at Ashland (Oct. 31) against the Eagles.
