Cross Country Team Hands Out Awards
MARQUETTE, Mich. - Recently the Northern Michigan University women’s cross country team held its award banquet and the following awards were announced. Rebecca Holmquist and Nora Kiilunen were named Freshmen of the Year. Kiilunen was named Most Valuable Runner. Most Improved was given to Jessica Krob and Team Choice was awarded to Bibiane Mahy.
The team was also selected by the NCAA Division II Women’s Cross Country Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team. The team carried a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average. To be considered the team must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
