TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Two members of the Northern Michigan University women’s outdoor track and field team competed at the Florida State University Relays over the weekend. Leslie Luehmann and Krista Squiers competed for the Wildcats at the FSU Relays.
Luehmann competed in the heptathlon as she finished seventh with 3,530 points. The first event which was the 100-meter hurdles, Luehmann ran a 16.04 which placed her sixth. Luehmann then was seventh in the high jump with a mark of 5-00.25. In the shot put, Luehmann had a throw of 28-03.75 which was good for fifth. With a time of 30.12 in the 200, Luehmann finished 10th in the race. The next two parts of the heptathlon were field events as she was seventh in the long jump (16-00.50) and fourth in the javelin (88-05). The final event of the heptathlon, the 800 run, saw Luehmann run a 3:07.02 for 10th.
Squiers competed in the discus where she was sixth (123-08). She was fifth in both the hammer (137-09) and javelin (114-11).
The NMU team will compete for the first time this spring at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational on Saturday (April 4).
