FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Former members of the Northern Michigan University Nordic ski team are currently competing at the U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships.
Tuesday (March 24) the men competed in the 10K classic race. Two skiers with NMU ties were top-10 finishers as Chris Cook was fourth with a time of 29:13.9 while Bryan Cook (29:29.7) finished seventh. Phil Violett covered the course in a time of 31:20.7 to finish in 34th place. Tim Cook (31:52.7) and Gus Kaeding (32:21.6) were 42nd and 45th respectively.
In the team sprint finals on Wednesday (March 25) C. Cook was part of the winning relay. He teamed with Torin Koos to capture the race with a clocking of 29:17.5.
