DETROIT, Mich. – Erik Gustafsson was named by the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) as the Best Offensive Defenseman. He was presented with the award at the annual CCHA Awards banquet Thursday night, March 19, at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Gustafsson is the first player from NMU to win this award.
The sophomore from Kvissleby, Sweden led CCHA blueliners with 22 assists and 25 points in 28 conference games and finishing tied for 10th in the nation. Currently for the season, Gustafsson has 33 points on four goals and 29 assists.
