MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University volleyball team will enjoy its first competition of the spring this weekend. The team has been practicing since March 9 for its spring schedule. 
Saturday (March 21) the Wildcats host a tournament in Vandament Arena along with Michigan Tech and Lake Superior State.    NMU will face MTU in the first match of the day at noon. LSSU and MTU tangle in the second match at 2:30 p.m. In the finale the ‘Cats and Lakers will go at it at 5 p.m. Each match will be a standard volleyball match.
Tickets for the day are available for $5 from the NMU Athletic Office, from anyone associated with the NMU volleyball program or at the door. Ticket stubs will be collected to put into a drawing for prizes. Some of the prizes include a Play Station 3, an Apple IPod, season tickets for volleyball at NMU, dinners in Marquette or in Sault Ste. Marie, movie and popcorn for two and a signed volleyball game ball.
