NMU Places Two Skiers In Top 20 In Freestyle Race At Nationals

BETHEL, Maine – Saturday at the NCAA Skiing Championships the Northern Michigan University women’s Nordic ski team had two skiers in the top 20 in the 15K freestyle race.
Laura DeWitt led the Wildcats with a 17th place showing in the event. She crossed the finish line with a time of 40:17.7. The next NMU skier was Marie-Helen Soderman in 20th as she had a time of 40:29.9. The third and final NMU skier in the event was Ingrid Fjeldheim (42:01.1) as she finished 32nd.
In the team race the ‘Cats were 12th with 195.0 points. The University of Denver took the championship crown with 659.0 points.
