Martin Stuge Banerud Takes 11th In Freestyle At Nationals

BETHEL, Maine – Saturday at the NCAA Skiing Championships the men competed in the 20K freestyle race. The Northern Michigan University men’s Nordic ski team had three people in the event.
Martin Stuge Banerud led the Wildcats with an 11th place showing. He had a time of 44:45.3. Phil Violett was the next NMU skier to cross the finish line with a time of 47:33.8 for 32nd. Justin Singleton was the final NMU skier in the race he finished in 38th with a time of 49:04.2.
In the team race the ‘Cats were 12th with 195.0 points. The University of Denver took the championship crown with 659.0 points.
