BAY CITY, Mich. – Kelsey Deacon was named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division All-Conference Second Team. Deacon led the 2008-09 Wildcats in scoring (16.3 ppg) and assists (3.0 apg).
In the GLIAC, Deacon ranked third in scoring and 15th in assists. Deacon averaged 35.6 minutes a game which was second in the conference as she started all 28 games for the Wildcats. She played every minute in eight games this past season. From the free throw line Deacon was 73-of-80 for .913 percent which placed her second in the GLIAC. Deacon made 69 of her shots from beyond the arc to lead the ‘Cats as she was third in the GLIAC in the category. She ranked 14th in the GLIAC in three-point field goal percentage (.356) and 10th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2).
Deacon was named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week in January when she led the ‘Cats to a pair of wins over Tiffin and Ashland. She tied a career-high with 29 points against the Eagles.
