Men's Cagers Host Top Ranked Oilers
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Men’s and women’s basketball will be hosting Hillsdale College and the University of Findlay this week at the Berry Events Center. The Northern Michigan University hockey team will be looking to get back in the win column when they hit the road to face Miami.
Thursday (Feb. 19) will be “Junior Trading Card Day” before the basketball games. The NMU women’s team (12-11, 7-11 GLIAC) will take to the court to face the Hillsdale College Chargers at 5:30 p.m. The men’s team (11-12, 6-12 GLIAC) will then take on the Chargers at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Saturday (Feb. 21) will be Senior Day for both basketball squads. It will also be “Senior Trading Card Day” before each game. Playing in their final game for the women’s team at the Berry Events Center are Kelsey Deacon, Cassie Hegbloom and Cassi Rushford. NMU will tip-off against the Findlay Oilers at 1 p.m. Playing in their final home game for the men are Kyle Greene, Tyler Kazmierkoski and Eric Sirrine. The Wildcats take on the top ranked team in NCAA Division II men’s basketball the Findlay Oilers at approximately 3 p.m.
The NMU hockey team (11-15-4, 8-12-4-3 CCHA) after being swept at Notre Dame last weekend take to the road again to face the Miami RedHawks in a CCHA series in Oxford, Ohio. Friday’s game is set for 7:35 p.m. while the puck will drop at 5:05 p.m. Saturday. The ‘Cats are still in a battle for home ice for the playoffs.
