MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University football program is hosting the NMU Football Spring Clinic April 3-4 (Friday-Saturday) in the Superior Dome. Featured speaker will be former NFL football coach Frank Novak. He coached in the professional football ranks for 16 years with five different teams including the Green Bay Packers. He spent 35 years overall in the coaching profession. Novak’s area of expertise is special teams which he coached in the NFL from 1994-05. He will be available during the clinic to answer questions and demonstrate special teams drills.
The agenda for the clinic on Friday, beginning at 2:15 p.m., will be the NMU coaching staff holding position meetings before practice. NMU will also have a practice. All attendees are invited to attend the meetings and practice. After practice there will be pizza in the staff room which will be followed by Novak’s talk on “Success Related to Football”. After the talk the NMU coaches will be available again to discuss their positions before a social at the Ramada Inn.
Saturday will begin (7:45 a.m.)with the NMU coaches available to discuss their positions. Novak then will demonstrate special teams drills with the NMU football team, as well as putting your special teams together. The clinic will conclude with an NMU scrimmage.
The price of the clinic is $50 per person or $40 each for a group of four or more coaches. High school and youth football coaching staffs are welcome to attend.
